The Artist
I make art to better understand myself and my surroundings. Self expression, material exploration, personal relationships, traditions, commercialism, medicine, literature, and feminism all motivate me as an artist.I have a close relationship with all things textile including crochet, felting, sewing, and embroidery. I feel a special bond with creating textile art; the skills come naturally and I feel at ease when I get lost in the repeating motions of sewing or crocheting. While exploring other materials I have learned to incorporate textile processes and skills in other mediums. By creating art I am trying to make my voice unique in the world.
